Mom's Famous Soy Sauce Chicken

One of the best meals I've had or will ever have. My mom's famous soy sauce chicken. Every one who has tried this has also loved it. It's so simple to make. And yet so complex in flavor. You have the legs, wings, and eggs. They're all soaked in the salty and sweet soy sauce. It's best over white rice with extra sauce drizzled on top. If I had a food truck, I'd definitely would sell this.

  2. @ babie toki: As it is my mom's recipe, I don't know many of the specifics. I, myself, have not made this dish before. I do know that she uses dark soy and sugar. She cooks the chicken in the soy mixture. That's all I know. Sorry.

  3. Not necessarily saying this is your mom's recipe but this is how I make chicken that looks almost identical to the ones in the picture.

    The sauce is simply dark soy sauce, water, sugar, and gingner. It's easier to just buy it at 99 Ranch. Lee Kum Kee's Chinese Marinade or Teriyaki Marinade.

    Pour the entire bottle into pot. Bring it to a boil, careful it boils over quick.

    Once at a boil, add the chicken. Boil the chicken for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, turn off the heat, let the chicken stand in the pot for 10 minutes. That's all. While you're boiling the chicken, you'll want to play around with the heat level so that the chicken stays covered in the foam without a boil over.
