Lazzara's again

A couple of friends were over to hang out. We were all hungry and decided to order in. The weather was terrible that night. We needed something heavy and good to soak up all the alcohol we were going to ingest later that night. We opted for Lazzara's. We were happily satisfied last time so we didn't have an issue ordering from them again. Besides, one of the friends was a little picky with his food. Maybe more than just a little. A quick look through the menu, and we order a meatball parmesan sandwich ($8), 2 ravioli pesce, and a penne pesto with chicken. The meatball parmesan sub was huge! This picture is just half of the sandwich. It can easily feed 2 people. The meatballs were tender and flavorful. The sandwich itself was well sauced and the cheese was melted and gooey. A good staple. The ravioli pesce had lobster, cheese, and shrimp in marinara sauce. It was better than I thought. Normally, I am skeptical about smaller places and their seafood pasta dishes. But it was good and it didn't taste fishy in a foul way. I was very happy. So happy in fact that I used some bread to sop up the rest of the sauce. My friend also enjoyed her dish a lot. She sopped up her sauce with bread too. Lastly, the penne pesto with chicken. This was the worse dish of the group. It didn't taste bad. But the pesto flavor was lacking. It was fragrant and didn't taste much like basil and garlic. The flavors were really muted. And there wasn't much chicken in the dish. Unfortunately, this dish fell flat. We were all quite happy with Lazzara's performance again. The food came hot and was delicious. With just one dish that fell flat, I'm sure we'll order from here again.
