Pasta with Anchovies
Home alone one night, I decided to make something that Mr. Meat Potatoes normally won't eat: anchovies. I was inspired by watching a show on the Food Network one day. It was pasta with anchovies.
I started by reheating some marinara sauce that I had previously prepared. When that was warmed through, I added a can of anchovies to the sauce. I also added a handful of capers to the mix.
While the anchovies melted into the sauce, I cooked the angel hair pasta until it was slightly underdone. Then I added it to the sauce and continued to cook it until al dente. The pasta soaked up the sauce really well. The sauce itself was really delicious. It had the salty, buttery taste of anchovies. And the capers added a slight taste to the dish as well.
I really liked the dish and would definitely make it again. Maybe next time I wouldn't add a whole can of anchovies as the sauce was a little salty. But I am not one to ever complain about salt. I love it!
