My Trip to Hong Kong (Day 9): Bakery

On our way home to the Metro, we came across a bakery. Now we really needed to try it out. We haven't had any baked char siu buns yet. I don't know what's the name of this bakery since it was all in Chinese characters. Whatever the case was, we were happy to communicate well enough to order a couple of baked breads.

Here's the baked char siu bun.

And this is the inside. The filling was quite nice. A little sweet and a lot savory. It played well with the super soft bun. We only wished that the bread was baked more so it was more browned on top. Otherwise, a very good bread.
I picked a pineapple bun. It's a soft bread with a sweet flaky crust. It's called a pineapple bun because the topping is supposed to look like a pineapple. Does it? I'm not so sure. Anyway, it was quite good. The topping was sweet and really crumbly. The bread, again, was super soft.
These breads were super soft. I think maybe they use cake flower instead of all purpose flower. In any case, it was a very nice snack indeed.
