Tuesday Nights: Lansdowne Road

Towards the end of the last year, my friends thought that we weren't hanging out enough. It's true, we weren't. So they started Tuesday night get-togethers. Every Tuesday, we'll pick a bar to drink, eat, and hang out for a couple of hours. Whomever can make it will attend. If you're busy, it's okay. There's always next week. So this is Tuesday Nights on Tasty Eating where you will find bars that serve food and how we like them.

This week, we headed out to: Lansdowne Road
Lansdowne Road is a bar located in Hell's Kitchen. I've walked past it many times but never ventured in. So when we were trying to decided where to go on this particular Tuesday Night With a quick glance, I could tell they're a sports bar because they had many crests on the outside of their building. However, I can't tell if they're soccer crests or maybe something else.

The below coaster wants me think it's a rugby bar. We weren't around any TV's that night know for sure.

Doesn't matter though because we were there for the food and drinks. The beer was your typical selection with nothing exciting. The food was the same. Typical fried bar food. Satisfying for what it was but nothing special. Here's an appetizer platter called the Grand Slam ($20). It had onion rings, fried calamari, mozzarella sticks, and chicken fingers.
Strangely enough, it didn't come with fries so we ordered a side ($4). Again, fried well but obviously of the frozen kind.
We ordered some of their proclaimed world famous buffalo wings ($8 for 12). The taste was pretty good. They were fried then tossed in the buffalo sauce. Slightly spicy and tangy at the same time. I enjoyed them.
We also had 2 orders of the sliders ($8 for 3) and thought they were okay. Not particularly great but not bad either. The meat patty was juicy enough and the bun was simple and held up well. The creamy cheese was a nice addition.
Lansdowne Road is okay and I wouldn't mind going again but I wouldn't jump at it either. One thing that might change my mind are the wings. It's $0.25 wing night on Mondays. That sounds good enough for another visit.
