ML HH: The Gingerman

Another month, another Midtown Lunch Happy Hour. This time, we all agree on going to the Ginger Man in Midtown East. They boast a large rotating menu of craft beers and some decent eats.

I started out the night with Young Double Chocolate Stout which was heavy and sweet. It almost reminded me of spiked chocolate milk. I really liked it. After that, I tried the Climax Nut Brown which is much lighter but still very robust in flavor. Lastly, I had the Gingerman's Ginger Ale which tasted good at first but became too much as I slowly nursed that drink. I was drinking so slowly that someone else finished it for me. Oops! Oh well. Anyway, all of these drinks varied around the $7 mark.

Along with the beer, I also ordered a soft pretzel with spicy mustard ($3). The pretzel was indeed soft and lacked any crust. I really like a crust on my pretzels. However, the large grains of salt really helped with the texture and the flavor. I just love salt. The mustard also came in handy to elevate the flavor. However, after having this, I don't think I would order it again.

But to my delight, Brownie came and brought some delicious pies for everyone! I can't remember the specific ingredients but I know there was oatmeal and raspberry, I think. It tasted of peanut butter and jelly and we were all elated.

Overall, it was a really fun night with a new face, VDUB, who also turned out to be pretty cool.
