Tuesday Nights: Lansdowne Road

Towards the end of the last year, my friends thought that we weren't hanging out enough. It's true, we weren't. So they started Tuesday night get-togethers. Every Tuesday, we'll pick a bar to drink, eat, and hang out for a couple of hours. Whomever can make it will attend. If you're busy, it's okay. There's always next week. So this is Tuesday Nights on Tasty Eating where you will find bars that serve food and how we like them.

Recently, we headed out to: Lansdowne Road
So we actually went out to Happy Hour on a Monday instead of a Tuesday. Why? Well, Lansdowne Road offers $0.25 cent wings on Mondays. That's pretty good. So off we went on a Monday night to enjoy some beer and wings.

I started off the night with a Chelsea Checker Cab beer on draft. Not bad. Golden in color, and hardly bitter at all. I would order this again.

And now the food. We ordered 12 pieces each of 2 different kinds: hot and mild. He wanted to see how hot the wings actually got. Unfortunately our order got mixed up and we ended up with mild and barbecue. Below is the mild which was in fact very tame.
And below here is the barbecue. Although our order got mixed up, they wings were pretty tasty. They were fairly large in size and quite meaty. I would definitely order these again.
With the wings, we already snacked on some nachos ($9). This serving size was really big and easily fed our group of 8. Unfortunately, the tortilla chips easily softened under all those toppings.
And what's a bar meal without more fried foods? Here are some Mac N Cheese bites ($7) which were okay. They weren't cheesy enough but still good. I mean it's pasta, cheese, and deep fried. Really, how could that be bad?
And lastly, we nibbled on some fries ($4) which were really mediocre. They tasted from the freezer to the fryer type of fries. That's okay with me though. They were crispy and plentiful.
And lastly, some onion rings ($5). Huge rings of onions fried with a thick batter. Again, just okay but totally satisfied my fried craving very well.
Lansdowne Road is a solid sports bar. Lots of fried foods on the menu but they fry properly. The wings are definitely worth going for on Mondays. Heck, I'd even have them at regular price the rest of the week.
