Giorgios of Gramercy

Giorgio's of Gramercy is a very underrated restaurant. No you won't be getting a 5 star dinner here but you'll get a nice dinner, romantic decor, and good service. Oh and the servings are quite big.

Once seated and ordered, we were given an amuse bouche. This is some kind of white fish salad over a small piece of toast. It was good. A nice rich fish flavor without being off putting. The toasted bread gave it nice texture.

We started with an appetizer to share: the antipasto ($10). This serving was definitely enough for 2 people. We enjoyed the salami, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, parmesan, roasted red peppers, green beans, fava beans, and olives. Everything tasted fresh and good.
For my entree, I had the seared tuna ($21). The tuna loin was cooked to rare as I requested. The accompanying corn and farro salad gave the dish some heftiness while keeping to a light meal. I enjoyed it.
Mr. M&P had 2 half portions of pasta, but they may have been full portions because the dishes were so large. They was no way he could finish it. He tried to anyway. Hahah! Below is pappardelle with mushrooms and cheese. I think it was a special of the day. He liked it. The mushrooms had really great flavor while the cheese was melty goodness.
He also had a half portion of the baked mac n cheese with prosciutto ($9). However, it wasn't as good as he remembered. It wasn't as creamy and cheesy anymore. Doesn't mean it wasn't good. It just didn't wow him.
Overall, we had a nice meal at Giorgio's of Gramercy. Although it won't wow anyone, it will leave you satisfied and happy. Decent food at an even decent price. Good enough for me.
