Tuesday Nights: Phebe's (again)

Towards the end of the last year, my friends thought that we weren't hanging out enough. It's true, we weren't. So they started Tuesday night get-togethers. Every Tuesday, we'll pick a bar to drink, eat, and hang out for a couple of hours. Whoever can make it will attend. If you're busy, it's okay. There's always next week. So this is Tuesday Nights on Tasty Eating where you will find bars that serve food and how we like them.

On this recent Tuesday Night, we headed out to: Phebe's, again.
We were so impressed by Phebe's that we went again the next week. We wanted to try some more of the appetizers to find our favorites. And you can't beat that happy hour special (1/2 off appetizers and drinks until 8pm).

First, we wanted a basket of tater tots ($4). The basket was large and the tots crispy and hot. Although this was listed under "sides" and not eligible for the happy hour special, it was still a good deal.

The chicken tenders ($8) also came well fried. A nice crispy crust outside, juicy chicken on the inside. The sauces are ranch, buffalo, and bbq.
The mozzarella sticks ($8) were also fried well. I guess they know how to fry. The cheese sticks were the normal frozen kind but delicious none the less. Gooey cheese covered in a thin crunchy crust with marinara sauce on the side.
The twin chili dogs ($8) were also a good dish. Pretty large and filling, this hit the spot. It was nice to have at least 1 non-fried item on our table that night. The hot dogs are all beef, the chili was meaty and beany. The melted cheese on top stretched and the raw onion added not only some freshness but a nice spice as well. The ketchup on the side was unnecessary.
And how could be not get another plate of those nachos ($10)? Large plate of tortilla chips smothered in meat, cheese, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and lots of other things. This plate wasn't as large as the last time but it was still delicious. Definitely still worth getting.
Phebe's was just solid again. And really, that happy hour deal is just awesome.
