Tuesday Nights: Lansdowne Road

Towards the end of the last year, my friends thought that we weren't hanging out enough. It's true, we weren't. So they started Tuesday night get-togethers. Every Tuesday, we'll pick a bar to drink, eat, and hang out for a couple of hours. Whoever can make it will attend. If you're busy, it's okay. There's always next week. So this is Tuesday Nights on Tasty Eating where you will find bars that serve food and how we like them.

On this recent Tuesday Night, we headed out to: Lansdowne Road
This week instead of Tuesday, we went out on Thursday to watch the last game of the Yankees postseason. Every bar was pretty much packed that night but we stayed local. The bar was packed but not uncomfortable. I arrived early enough to score a few seats at the bar. It gave us front and center views of one of their many TVs. And we had easy access to the bartender.

While we watched the game, we snacked on some food. It helped the time go by since the Yankees left so many players on the bases. That was painful to watch. They have this pretty good deal of 1 dozen wings, 6 mini cheeseburgers, and a bowl of fries for $24. We added on an order of onion rings $5 because we all love them.

The burgers were overcooked but still pretty juicy. They were seasoned well and the cheese was melted and gooey. The bun stayed together through the few bites.

We ordered the buffalo wings medium and they seemed more mild to me. Next time, we'll try hot. But each wing was meaty with a nice crust from the frying. The buffalo wing sauce coated every single space on the wing and was tangy yet slightly spicy. I didn't need to use the blue cheese at all.
The fries were crispy, hot, and salted. That's all I need.
The onion rings were really juicy. Is that weird? You could definitely taste the onion in each rings and the juices from it were really noticeable. I guess they used some pretty fresh onions there.
All in all, the Yankees lost but we had a nice time. The bartenders were nice and attentive. The food was decent and with the $24 deal, it's definitely worth it. It fed the 4 of us easily. And don't forget, if you get there early, Happy Hour is from 5-7pm and half off drinks.

  2. Fire A-Rod for sure!! A cow that can feed many is more useful than his playoff production.
