My Trip to Melbourne, Australia (Day 2): Ponyfish Island

While walking around Melbourne and crossing the Yarra River, we came across this bar, Ponyfish Island, beneath the Southgate Pedestrian Footbridge. It was right before rush hour so it wasn't busy at all so we decided to stop for a drink.

And what a great idea that was. The cool river air, the bustle of people overhead and cool music in the background. This was an awesome location for a bar in the city. The service was attentive and friendly and they placed seats anywhere possible. They even converted empty kegs to seats with round cushions.
Also the view really couldn't be beat. Look at the scene. Serene. Ah, this was the trip I was looking forward to. We enjoyed an apple cider and draft beer for $18. As the hour passed, it got pretty crowded with workers enjoying happy hour. We left when more people started showing up but loved the time we spent there.
