My Trip to Queenstown, NZ (Day 14): Milford Sound

After scarfing our faces with burgers, we walked around town to look for supplies for our room and for our picnic at Milford sound (a day trip we booked for the next day). We stopped by Fergbaker to pick up some bread and the local supermarket for sliced meat, cheese, and more bread.

I immediately spotted the garlic parmigiana foccacia bread. It smelled and looked amazing. When we tasted it the next day, it held up really nicely. Still soft, well seasoned, and tons of flavor from the garlic, cheese, and herbs. We ate this on our hours long bus ride to Milford Sound.
We finally arrived at the docks and waited for our boat. Once aboard we toured around the fiord and had amazing views of waterfalls, mountains, seals, oceans, etc. The views are crazy amazing. We had gone to the Grand Canyon recently which we loved. But this was the Grand Canyon on steroids. It was that beautiful there. It was a true statement of what nature can look like if it's preserved. If you ever go to Queenstown, NZ you have to take a day trip to this site. If you have even more time, try going further north to the fiords where you can hike on a glacier. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time for that in our schedule.
And finally, our little picnic onboard. Just a simple ham and cheese sandwich with a fresh apple. Sorry for the pic. It was so bright there with the blue skies and the reflection of the water.
At the end of the day, we had schedule a helicopter ride back into town. Unfortunately, the winds were too high. Instead, we took the long bus ride back. This time, I stayed up and took in the views that were missed in the morning. We boarded the bus before the sun rose. Obviously, I was sleeping.
