Picnic Garden (Edison, NJ)

I've been to Picnic Garden before but only the Flushing, Queens location (previous post here). I enjoyed it and was looking forward to another meal. This time, we went to the Edison, NJ location. When we first arrived, I saw how huge the place was. I couldn't imagine that since the Queens location is really small and cramped. This was promising. VERY promising.

When we stepped inside, I fell in love instantly. The place was very vast. So much that there was no lingering BBQ smell. It smelled clean in there. No smoky smelling hair or clothes. The next thing I noticed was that the tables were really spaced well so you weren't sitting on top of one another. And the last thing (and possible the best) was the buffet bar (AYCE dinner ~$35). A great selection of cooked foods and raw foods. Everything looked fresh and were being replaced constantly. As we cooked our various meats like kalbi (short ribs sliced crosswise and wrapped around the bone), bulgogi (thinly sliced beef), pork belly, spicy chicken, and more I snacked on a plate of jap chae (a Korean noodle dish) and various cooked vegetables like spinach.
This is just a small glimpse of our bounty. We kept going up for more and more food. Don't fill up on the appetizers though. There's a lot of meat, seafood, and vegetables to go through.
The waiter came by several times to switch out our BBQ grill plates and also refilled our waters and teas constantly. The service here was very good.

After all that food, we still had room for ice cream. Vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. Not too shabby.

I really loved this location of Picnic Garden. It was vast, clean, great selection of food both ready to eat and to be cooked on the grill. The service was attentive, friendly, and accommodating. It was worth the drive over. In fact, I would rather go to this location than Flushing any time.
