Tuesday Nights: Gatsby's

Towards the end of one year, my friends thought that we weren't hanging out enough. It's true, we weren't. So they started Tuesday night get-togethers. Every Tuesday, we'll pick a bar to drink, eat, and hang out for a couple of hours. Whoever can make it will attend. If you're busy, it's okay. There's always next week. So this is Tuesday Nights on Tasty Eating where you will find bars that serve food and how we like them.

On this recent Tuesday Night, we headed out to: Gatsby's
While we love our Phebe's, we like to venture out to try some new places as well. Someone suggested Gatsby's one night.  It seemed like a typical, generic pub but sometimes those are the type of places we want.

When we arrived, it wasn't very crowded so we snuggled up into the back at a table. We looked over the menu a bit. It was as we expected. Fried this and fried that. So we ordered a variety to share. We started with the mini burgers with cheese ($8) with a side of pickles. These were just okay. The burgers were slightly overcooked and therefore dry.
We also ordered the buffalo wings ($9) with blue cheese dip to share. These were slightly spicy but okay in the end. They were fried fine but overall nothing special.
We ordered a side of fries ($5) which were crispy and hot. Though they were obviously previously frozen.
The chicken fingers with honey mustard dip ($9) were just okay as well. Again, previously frozen then fried. They were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. But nothing special.
And last, a plate of calamari ($10). Frozen then to the fryer. They were bready and chewy. I wouldn't get this again.
Gatsby's wasn't anything special. The beer selection was mediocre and the food the same. It's a meh pub. I wouldn't go back.
