My Trip to Atlanta, GA: Eclipse Di Luna

For the one night we went out to eat, we chose Eclipse Di Luna which is a tapas bar. Good for large groups and plates to share.
We started off with some Tomate Fresco ($5.50) with fresh tomatoes and mozzarella cheese in balsamic vinegar and basil. Sweet, tart, creamy, and fresh. A nice light start to the meal.

Ostiones Fritos ($5.50): fried oysters in citrus herb aioli with an accompanying salad. Fresh plump Chesapeake oysters with a smooth sauce and fresh salad greens.
Carpaccio de Atun a la Plancha ($7.50): seared tuna steak with tomato and caper salad. Fresh tuna lightly seared. Another fresh dish though a bit pricey.
Gambas al Ajillo ($6.25): prawns sauteed with garlic and peppers. Fresh, pungent garlic flavor in each and every bite. I could eat 20 of these.
Brocheta de Chorizo y Datiles ($6.50): dates and chorizo wrapped in bacon with blue cheese. Fatty, meaty, salty, delicious.
Patatas Bravas ($4.50): spiced potatoes with romesco sauce. Always an easy order. Crispy potatoes tossed with spices with a creamy red pepper sauce.
Calamares Fritos ($6): fried calamari with tomato salad. A crowd favorite and very easy to eat. A nice portion for the price.
Pulpo Salteado ($7): pan seared octopus with potatoes, onions, and grilled lemon. Slightly chewy with nice charred flavor. The small pieces were smart.
Empanada de Vegetables ($4.25): fried pastry dough stuffed with corn, poblano, black beans, and tetilla cheese topped with cilantro sour cream. Freshly fried to order and delicious. A great combination of flavors and textures.
Paella ($20) with shrimp, squid, mussels, chicken and chorizo. The rice was a bit soft and there was no crunchy bottom. Flavors were a bit muted but overall okay.
Dessert that night was key lime pie, flan, and a turtle cake. They went overboard with the caramel on top. The desserts were meh. Nothing definitively good. A skip.
Overall, I really enjoyed my meal at Eclipse Di Luna. The service was good and fun, the live band was great, and the food was good. It's not mind blowing food but it satisfied us. We left happy.
