My Trip to Barcelona, Spain (Day 6): Bubo

After a relatively heavy lunch, a few of us needed some coffee to ease us back into reality (more walking), we went to Bubo for a pick me up. Luckily for us, they also served some pastries and chocolate. We ordered a few to share like a hazelnut creme cake, and a chocolate cake. Clearly, my choice below was the cheeseburger shaped dessert.

This "Big Mac-aron" was a macaron sandwich with chocolate, hazelnuts, marzipan, caramel ganache, and fleur de sel salt. Normally, desserts like these just look good and lack in flavor. But not so here. The macarons were delicate and had a sweet hazelnut flavor. The marzipan cheese also nutty but of almond flavor and the chocolate patty was the sweetest of the layers. But all together, this was a fun and just fine dessert. I'm glad I ordered it.
If you're more into classic desserts then the hazelnut cake and chocolate cube cake was excellent. The former being light and almost mousse like while the cube was rich and luxurious. They were actually good contrasts to each other.

We enjoyed Bubo so much that we went back another day to buy gifts for people. They had a good selection of wrapped chocolate bars, bon bons, and the such.
